Editorial Standards

Editorial Standards

Duckbube exists to make the next decision easier. That means showing the useful details, naming the trade-offs, and keeping a clear line between an editorial opinion and a commercial relationship.

How we choose what to cover

We start with a real reader question: Which tool fits a small team? Is a clothing brand worth the price? What does a hosting plan feel like after the first month? A product earns coverage when there is enough substance to compare, explain, or test—not simply because a brand has an affiliate program.

How we research

  • We read product documentation, pricing pages, policies, and support material.
  • We compare the details that affect ownership: limits, exclusions, renewal pricing, materials, fit, setup, and cancellation.
  • When firsthand access is available, we use the product and record practical observations. When it is not, we label what comes from published information and avoid pretending otherwise.
  • We update articles when a meaningful change affects the original conclusion.

How we write recommendations

There is rarely one best choice for everyone. Our reviews explain who a product suits, where it falls short, and what a sensible alternative looks like. Ratings and conclusions are editorial judgments, not guarantees of performance or value.

Affiliate relationships

Some links on Duckbube may generate a commission if you buy or sign up. The price you pay does not increase because of that link. Commercial relationships do not buy coverage, a positive verdict, or a place in our comparisons. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.

Corrections and feedback

If you spot an outdated price, an incorrect claim, or a detail that deserves a second look, please contact us. We would rather correct a useful article quickly than defend an old sentence.
